CriticalMass

PECOS Wind team with innovative low-speed wind turbine structural components

Program Overview

MassCEC advances the deployment and commercialization of emerging climate technologies through the CriticalMass program. This new program will award grants of up to $1,000,000 to eligible climatetech startup companies undertaking deployment-scale projects. Through CriticalMass, selected startup companies will also gain access to an Entrepreneur in Residence, Support Service Advisor, and a Deployment Partner matchmaking system that pairs climatetech startup companies with universities, municipal, and corporate partners to execute the proposed deployment projects.

The CriticalMass program builds upon MassCEC’s legacy Technology Development grant programs including InnovateMass, AmplifyMass, Catalyst/DICES, Innovation Ecosystem Program, and the recent Massachusetts Climatetech Studio, by supporting growth-stage climatetech startup companies as they transition from the development and demonstration of technical prototype solutions to sustainable commercial operations.
