Participation in the Activate Fellowship is free, with no fees or equity requirements. The primary focus is nurturing and developing fellows into thoughtful, inclusive, and effective technology leaders. The fellowship includes a living stipend, comprehensive benefits, professional services, and tailored mentorship, allowing fellows to explore and define their entrepreneurial paths.

Berkshire Innovation Center (BIC)
The Berkshire Innovation Center (BIC) catalyzes to ignite innovation and foster sustainable growth for technology-focused companies. We achieve this through comprehensive programs promoting learning and enriching individuals pursuing technology-led careers. Our state-of-the-art research and innovation space allows people and companies to explore and develop new technologies, fostering a collaborative community of like-minded innovators.
The BIC Stage 2 Accelerator is a pivotal 35-week, hands-on, results-oriented program explicitly designed for early-stage tech startups focused on building physical products and transitioning to the manufacturing phase. This program provides critical support and resources to help startups navigate the complexities of product development and scale their operations effectively.
By convening and connecting a vibrant network of innovators, BIC ensures participants access to invaluable mentorship, industry connections, and a supportive environment. We aim to empower the next generation of technology leaders and drive economic growth through innovation.
Cleantech Open Northeast (CTONE)
Cleantech Open is the oldest and largest accelerator for cleantech startups, offering a national program akin to a mini MBA. It provides expert mentoring, professional connections, opportunities to compete for cash prizes, and access to goods and services without taking equity. Applications are accepted from January to April 2024, with the accelerator running from May to October.
The program includes 10 content modules and 9 deliverables, forming the foundation for each business and guiding startups through investment preparation. Each Northeast startup is paired with four mentors who act as an advisory board. Cleantech Open Northeast, managed by NECEC, spans Eastern Canada to Virginia, with 40-50 startups participating annually.
Since 2005, 74% of the 601 alums remain active or have had successful exits, raising over $1.47 billion and creating 4,400 jobs. The 2023 cohort’s emission reduction potential equates to removing 392 million gas-powered cars annually. In 2024, $70,000 in cash prizes and $300,000 in services will be offered.
Forge
FORGE is a nonprofit dedicated to helping innovators with physical products navigate from prototype to commercialization and impact at scale. We have supported over 800 startups and innovative companies through educational events, workshops, and resources essential for product development and scaled production.
We provide curated connections to suppliers tailored to specific needs at the appropriate time. Our educational programming empowers innovators and manufacturers to collaborate effectively by offering the necessary connections and tools to scale. Among our network of over 500 suppliers, 80% are willing to engage with the small-value contracts that startups often require.
FORGE accelerates the path to market for physical innovations through focused education, resources, and connections in product development, manufacturing, and supply chain management. Our programming and resources are designed to prepare innovators and suppliers for scalable production and effective collaboration, ensuring a smoother transition from prototype to full-scale production.

Greentown Labs
Greentown Labs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that catalyzes climate solutions through entrepreneurship, partnership, and collaboration. As the largest climate tech startup incubator in North America, Greentown unites startups, corporates, investors, policymakers, and others to scale climate technologies. Our mission is to provide startups with the community, connections, and resources they need to thrive.
We offer lab space, shared office space, machine shops, electronics labs, tool shops, software, business resources, and access to a vast network of corporate customers and investors. With incubators in Somerville, MA, and Houston, TX, Greentown is home to over 200 startups and has supported more than 500 since our founding in 2011. These startups have collectively created over 11,000 jobs and raised over $5.7 billion in funding.

SeaAhead

Anchored in Greater Boston, SeaAhead's BlueSwell program aligns with the state's CleanTech priorities.
SeaAhead focuses on human, environmental, and business success, embracing the ethos of "People, planet, profits. Win, win, win." Our robust startup programs launch and nurture startups. At the same time, our active bluetech ecosystem connects founders, industry leaders, technical experts, and key stakeholders.
Since its inception in 2018, SeaAhead has addressed gaps in support infrastructure and funding for early-stage blue economy startups. By bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders, we have created an open innovation ecosystem that produces scalable commercial solutions to modern-day challenges. Innovation Hub
The I Hub at UMass Lowell is a unique incubator/accelerator program supporting start-up companies and innovators in the sustainability space, focusing on materials such as clean chemistry, reuse and recycling processes, and biomaterials. Our spaces cater to the needs of "open innovation" startups by offering flexible work and laboratory space, providing access to office resources without the burden of long-term leases. Startups can scale their space as needed, from a single desk with internet access to private offices and lab space for growing teams.
The Lowell Innovation Hub, located at 110 Canal St., emphasizes clean energy, sustainable chemistry, and environmental innovations. Meanwhile, the Haverhill Innovation Hub at 2 Merrimack St. supports startups and entrepreneurs along the Merrimack River. Both locations offer a collaborative environment where startups can learn from and share with each other. The I Hub is part of UMass Lowell's robust innovation ecosystem, including a network of mentors, experts, sponsors, and potential investors.

MassRobotics is the largest independent robotics hub, dedicated to accelerating innovation and adoption in the field of robotics. As an independent nonprofit organization, we support the robotics community through accelerator and residency programs for startups developing hardware-related solutions. Our mission is to help create and scale the next generation of successful robotics technology and connected devices companies.
We provide entrepreneurs and startups with workspace, software, tools, a lending library of components and robots, prototyping space with a full machine shop, technical seminars, and mentorship. MassRobotics originated and is headquartered in Boston, but we support robotics acceleration and adoption globally, working with startups, academia, industry, and governments both domestically and internationally.

Valley Venture Mentors
