The East Boston Shipyard is located at 256 Marginal Street in East Boston, MA. This site is the only ship repair facility in Boston Harbor equipped to serve mid-sized commercial vessels, including an operational 67-foot by 256-foot (20m x 78m) graving dock. The site is approximately 35 acres (14 hectares), much of which is watersheet.
Additionally, the East Boston Shipyard is currently home to approximately 30 businesses, including a steel fabrication facility, commercial maritime fueling operation, two marine construction companies, the Harbor Pilots. There is also an operating marina at the site that would not be available for redevelopment.
The site is approximately 132 miles (244 km) from the leading edge of the offshore wind energy areas located south of Martha’s Vineyard, with no on-water overhead restrictions.
