BOSTON - Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) today welcomed Brooke Barton as the agency’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
As COO, Barton will be responsible for day-to-day strategic leadership and management, and for building and maintaining infrastructure and other resources to support and advance the organization’s programs and mission.
Over the last 20 years, Brooke has worked in the climate and sustainability field in roles in the nonprofit sector, the private sector, and academia. This includes more than a decade at the climate nonprofit Ceres, where as VP of Innovation she oversaw the organization’s strategic planning and business analytic functions and led a team that supported operational and program innovation. Previously, she launched, grew and led programs at Ceres focused on accelerating the private sector’s response to the global water crisis and the climate impacts of agriculture.
Her education includes a BA in Economics from Duke University and a Master's in Corporate Social Responsibility from Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy.
