Job intro

Want to build a green future for the generation to come?

Your job: Power the future with a minimal impact on our environment!

  • Do you love creating something tangible as a result of your hard work – but you are better with a mouse and laptop than with a set of carpenter’s tools?
  • Do you like office work – but also enjoy putting on your outdoor gear once in a while to get things done on your To-Do-List?
  • Do you want a well-paid job with development opportunities and a bright future ahead – but not at all costs to communities and the environment?

Then join us in developing and help building renewable energy projects.

You will be involved in many aspects of the development of wind and solar energy projects. You will work with an inspiring team composed of experts in renewable energy policy and incentives, real estate, GIS, legal, design, permitting, site preparation, finance and construction. We acknowledge that the most valuable resource for our business is the confidence of the communities that are willing to host our projects in our ability to find the equilibrium between their best interests, the financial viability of our undertakings and the needs of our environment.

The only real requirement to get this job: Passion!

Please don’t bore us with your application! Rather, try the following:

  • Tell us about achievements in your professional and personal life that make you proud;
  • Make our team laugh or cry when reviewing your application; and most importantly
  • Show us your passion for renewable energy!
Job Duties/Responsibilities

Once you clear that hurdle, the following would be an asset:

You

  • have a track record in the development of wind energy projects and experience with energy storage;
  • don’t mind reading boring stuff (state policy, legislation, compliance filings, contracts) in order to dissect whether they contain exciting project opportunities;
  • are galvanized by identifying strategic points of interconnection on the grid based on available capacity and managing interconnection requests with various ISOs and RTOs;
  • don’t mind getting your boots dirty in order to assist our construction team as necessary to bring projects into operation;
  • are able to distinguish pretentious BS from real expertise and select, manage and direct third party consultants accordingly;
  • are familiar with project management procedures, project scheduling, budgeting and financial modelling;
  • are not shy and comfortable with community outreach, public presentations, contract negotiation, and communications across a spectrum of outside partners (landowners, local and state government representatives, community members, suppliers, etc.);
  • have a solid sense of humor;
  • are positively challenged by having to independently find a solution to a problem;
  • respond well to pressure and know to prioritize but are not ashamed by saying that you need a break or that you could use some help;
  • are full of energy but not too full of yourself to understand that it requires a team and its cooperation to build a power plant;
  • love to get to know like-minded people;
  • appreciate the merit for our society in sharing the value created by our projects with our host communities, our First Nations partners and underrepresented groups;
  • are experienced with MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, ETAP, PVSyst, Helioscope, Wind Pro or other design software.
Benefits

We offer more than just a desk and a salary!

  • Possibility of a 4-day work week – because we know you have a life outside your job;
  • S.ponsorship W.ith E.mployee’s B.lessing – you name the good cause you want to support and we will sponsor it;
  • Extended paid parental leave – because there is no point in working for future generations without future generations;
  • Up to five weeks of holidays per year for your loyalty based on the duration of your service;
  • No dress code – we will judge your accomplishments, not your outfit;
  • A bonus program tied to the team’s achievements;
  • 401k-matching;
  • An employer that loves to improve based on your thoughts and opinions and that actively and regularly seeks your feedback;
  • Continuing education and training opportunities;

  • Possibility to work for and in other markets;
  • A parent company head-quartered in a tiny, tight-knit community – and not in some offshore tax haven.
