Full time position creating and leading a program to provide wage reimbursement to clean
energy employers who hire GLTS day, After Dark and evening graduates with skills related
to their industry. The goal is to place 60 graduates in entry level clean energy jobs with the
first three months of compensation supported by a GLTS wage reimbursement program. The
Clean Energy Employment Success Manager will engage with employers to commit to the
program, and will mentor new grads to retain employment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greater Lawrence Technical School is committed to expanding access to clean energy technical
careers through launching a clean energy wage reimbursement program. The program will be
established primarily to assist new graduates from HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Landscaping,
Carpentry and Automotive Technology through placement with “green” contractors interested in
hiring and mentoring new talent in the industry.

grads, but especially those from the environmental justice communities of Lawrence and

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Build a strong network of clean energy employers, industry associations, and unions that
are excited about the program, and are willing to consider recent GLTS grads for hire or
connect GLTS with employers who are.
Design and establish a wage reimbursement application process and operations protocol
that are effective and simple for both employers and GLTS graduates to navigate.
Brands the wage reimbursement program through a variety of communications media.
Responsible for marketing and promoting Greater Lawrence Technical School and its
graduates to employers.
Understands graduates’ career aspirations and challenges, and serves as a matchmaker to
achieve student placement in the program
Provides workshops and info sessions to both employers and GLTS day, After Dark and
evening students about the wage reimbursement program to generate interest.
Work collaboratively with team members to facilitate placement of GLTS graduates into
open positions.
Remains connected with graduates during wage reimbursement period to promote
retention and communication of employment results.
Innovates new job placement and retention strategies to enact continuous improvement.
Communicates opportunities to enter the teaching profession to industry professionals.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

The Clean Energy Employment Success Manager will work year-round full time and will be
eligible for GLTS benefits. The schedule will include at least one evening per week to coincide
with the adult evening technical training schedule. This position is grant funded.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in business, or marketing and sales preferred. Three years of
professional experience in business or marketing in sales preferred. Management
experience in the construction, advanced manufacturing or automotive industry will also
be considered.
Knowledge, enthusiasm and experience in the clean energy industry highly preferred.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of
managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse social, economic
and cultural backgrounds
Strong communication, problem solving and collaboration skills with the ability to work
independently
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
Driver’s License and reliable transportation
ABILITY, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Experience in sales highly preferred. Knowledge of the construction trades and/or
advanced manufacturing industry preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites and
Google online office products
Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
