Home energy use accounts for 32% of carbon emissions for a typical homeowner in Massachusetts, more than transportation or food. At SeeAir, we are dedicated to shrinking their carbon footprint by guiding them through the home improvement process, from deciding what projects to complete, educating them on the costs after eligible incentives, and connecting them with vetting contractors.  

Position Overview: SeeAir is seeking a Business Operations Intern to join our team this summer. The intern will play a pivotal role in ensuring that homeowners using SeeAir’s home energy assessment service have a seamless and positive experience. They will work closely with homeowners to address any issues or concerns that may arise throughout the process and will assist with various technical and administrative tasks to support the overall success of the program. Given the early stage of the company, we are looking for candidates able to handle a wide range of tasks with strong time management skills.

Compensation: $22/hr, 40 hours a week

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide exceptional and timely customer support to homeowners using SeeAir’s home energy assessment service.
  2. Visit customer sites to verify the success of our program against traditional energy assessment methods.
  3. Proactively identify and address any technical issues or challenges encountered by homeowners during the assessment process.
  4. Assist homeowners in navigating state incentive programs and accessing free home improvement projects, ensuring they fully understand the available options and requirements.
  5. Collaborate with the SeeAir team to troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions to improve the customer experience.
  6. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and follow-up actions, ensuring timely resolution of inquiries and concerns.
  7. Contribute to the development of customer support procedures and internal operational best practices.
  8. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about industry trends in the home improvement market.
  9. Assist with other administrative tasks and special projects as needed to support the overall success of SeeAir’s initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Environmental Science, Engineering, Public Health or related field.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with homeowners and internal team members.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software is a plus.
  • Passion for sustainability and addressing climate change.
  • Previous customer service or related experience is preferred but not required.
  • Access to a vehicle to visit customer sites.
