Business Network for Offshore Wind: Foundation 2 Blade Offshore Wind Industry Training

Verdean Veterans Memorial Hall - New Bedford, MA
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM ET

The Business Network for Offshore Wind and Vineyard Wind are offering a Foundation 2 Blade training, open to businesses based in Massachusetts that are owned by underrepresented community members (MBE, WBE, VBE, XBE). The training begins September 12 and ends September 14.

After you register, you will receive an email containing additional information about the program.

As the offshore wind industry in Massachusetts continues to expand, it is crucial that we ensure equal opportunities for participation and benefits for historically marginalized communities. This includes businesses owned by groups that have been historically excluded from economic opportunities, such as Wampanoag, Narragansett, Nipmuc, Native Americans, African Americans, Cape Verdeans, Indigenous peoples, Hispanics, Asians, women, veterans, LGBTQ individuals, people of color, and people with disabilities.

Historically, these communities have been disproportionately impacted by negative effects of energy production, such as pollution, displacement, trafficking, and exploitation. In an effort to create a safer, more inclusive, and equitable offshore wind industry that benefits all members of our communities, The Business Network for Offshore Wind and Vineyard Wind are offering a complimentary (a $2095 value) three-day offshore wind supply chain training program to Massachusetts-based businesses owned by underrepresented groups, including women, veterans, minorities, tribes, individuals with disabilities, and LGBTQ individuals.

Foundation 2 Blade is the industry's most comprehensive training program for businesses that are ready to take advantage of opportunities in the offshore wind industry. Over the course of multiple sessions, you will gain the tools, resources, and industry connections that will prepare your business to successfully enter the offshore wind supply chain.

This training will provide an overview of the expanding offshore wind industry in the United States and offer insight into how participating businesses can enter the supply chain. Because of the industry's size and complexity, offshore wind requires the work of many diverse business sectors. The opportunities are growing, but it can be difficult to enter the industry on your own. The time and resources needed to successfully enter the market often cost businesses hundreds of expensive consulting hours.

Enrolling in Foundation 2 Blade will greatly reduce your research and onboarding costs and help your business by answering three critical questions:

  • Where do I fit in the offshore wind supply chain?
  • How do I enter the market?
  • Who do I need to connect with in the industry?
